Abstract
The statue of a nude standing male youth was found in 1974 in the sanctuary of the Dii Mauri at Chimtou in northwestern Tunisia. It is reminiscent of the »Dresden Youth«, but it is an original product of the Severan period, and represents a boy in his teenage years. Its highly polished surface is remarkable, since ancient surfaces are rarely preserved. He appears to have held a strigil in his left hand, and was therefore probably an athlete. The statue was most likely originally set up near Chimtou’s temple of Saturn.
