Abstract

In the summer of 2023, a team of archaeologists from the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg carried out a GPR survey in the late antique settlement of València la Vella (Riba-roja de Túria, Spain). The GPR was used to detect and map the underground structures in eleven areas, because today only the city wall and scarce structures in the excavated sections are visible. This method was chosen to better understand the internal structure of the settlement without excavations and subsequently to be able to carry out systematic research in the future.
