Abstract

The paper gives a new survey on mining and metallurgy activity in one of the major Iberian mining districts exploited during the Roman period, based on the most recent finds of archaeology. It offers the opportunity to reconsider on new bases the importance of the mining activity in the territory of Carthago Nova and its evolution along the final centuries of the Roman Republic and the first century of the Empire.
