Abstract
The hispano-roman municipium of Munigua (Villanueva del Río y Minas, SW Spain) has recently been the object of a mining and metallurgical survey as part of a new archaeological investigation. As the preliminary facts show, the city arose as a result of copper and iron production and later became one of the most important smithing centres of Baetica.
