Abstract
This paper reviews the information available to date about the urban necropolis in Roman Spain during Late Antiquity. Archaeological research has advanced considerably in the past years, allowing new assessments with regard to the transformations that affected the areas destined for funeral use. Special attention is paid to the study of funeral topography as one of the most sensitive contexts for the respective fundamental social changes from the consolidation of urban Christianity on, but also in relation to the changes that, at the same time, affected the structure of the city itself.
