Entre espinas y restos de metal. Evidencias de actividades pesqueras en el yacimiento de Alobre (Vilagarcía de Arousa, Pontevedra)

Abstract

During the year 2016 an archaeological dig was carried out in the site of Alobre (Vilagarcia of Arousa, Pontevedra), which showed the existence of a settlement of the change of era that was partially amortized by a landfill. The surface was later used for the construction of a Roman hypocaust. Among the remains documented in the landfill stands out the appearance of several utensils that can be linked with fishing activities, which are confirmed too, by the existence of remains of Ichthyofauna documented during the excavation. In this work we will contextualize the site of Alobre within the Rías Baixas, review the results of the archaeological excavation carried out and analyze the utensils and remains related to fishing.
