Abstract

The Indo-Europeanist, classical philologist and historian Prof. Dr. Jürgen Untermann (1928-2013), full member of the German Archaeological Institute, maintained a special friendship with the Madrid branch in the course of his passionate research into the languages ​​and writings of pre- and early Roman Hispania, which are published in publications such as ›Language Spaces and Language Movements in pre-Roman Hispania ”and in 1965“ Elementos de un atlas antroponímico de la Hispania antigua ”. His life, characterized by intensive scientific activities and many trips, ended in Brauweiler near Cologne in 2013.
