La Livia de Asido (Medina Sidonia, Cádiz). Identificación de la estatua en el Museo de Cádiz

Abstract

In 1960, it was found in Medina Sidonia (Cádiz), the roman Asido, a female sculpture,
with the portraits of Livia, Germanicus and Drusus Minor; deposited in the stores of the
Museum of Cádiz, has remained unpublished until nowadays. This study allows to claim
that the portrait of Livia belongs to this sculpt body, hold on – formally – a version of the
type Formia, and used to portray Livia and some Julio-Claudian princesses. In this way, it is
concluded this ensemble of the sculptures that to get in a dynastic group from the imperator
Tiberius time in the acropolis of the roman city of Asido.
