Özet

In the 4th millennium BC cultural changes took place in northern Europe when hunter-gatherer societies were confronted with farming as a new way of life. Connected to these changes are findings and remains of the Funnel Beaker Culture (TBR), mainly known for megalithic graves visible above ground. In the study of this culture Rügen island plays a central role due to its isolation and the big number of monuments which were built there. Considering historical maps and on the basis of extensive investigations conclusions about burial practices and their evolution in space and time can be postulated. During current field works a cemetery in the forest of Pastitz was detected and investigated. Detailed insights about the cemetery structure and its use were gained during this campaign.
