Abstract
Qasr Mushash, located east of Amman, belongs to the so-called desert castles, which form a distinctive group of monuments dating to the Early Islamic period. Archaeological field work carried out at the site in recent years indicates both the complexity of the building structures and a certain amount of effort in the construction of this extensive settlement. Although written sources about this place are missing, it is likely to have constituted an important stop on the route between Amman and Inner Arabia in the Umayyad period.Downloads
