Abstract
Original title: Bemerkungen zur Stoa Basileios
The Stoa Basileios in the Athenian Agora and particularly its two risalits have thus far been considered by researchers to be the display place of inscriptions that bore the results of two legal revisions at the end of the 5th century BC. This paper reappraises the dating of the risalits to 400 BC with reference to their level vis-à-vis the stoa stylobate and two in situ bases for hermai. It is demonstrated that neither the two risalits nor the walls of the Stoa Basileios were permanent display places for legal inscriptions and that the risalits were not erected until post-classical times.
