Abstract

The still controversial question of the locations of the Augustinian honorary arches in Rome will be brought closer to a solution in this article with a renewed critical review of the depictions on coins, the literary sources and the archaeological findings. As a result, the traditional localization of the Parthian/Armenian Arch in the south and the Actium Arch in the north of the Temple of Divus Iulius will be justified.
