Synopsis
Original title: Zur Selbstdarstellung der Phoker in Delphi
Abstract The Delphians’ denial of a Phocian ethnicity gives a peculiar flavour to the Phocian consecrations in Delphi. Phocians indeed instrumentalised the Pythian sanctuary as a showcase for their self-representation. A technical analysis of three consecrations allows for an improved view of the material reconstruction of Phocian history and the celebration of Phocian identity after their readmission as a member of the amphictyony.
