A road with a past

Abstract The remnants of the guarding system of the Late Hellenistic/Early Roman period, which were located across the 19^th kilometer of the provincial road of Atlalanti - Elateia on the outskirts of the local community of Sfaka, of the Amfikleia - Elateia Municipality, indicate the existence of an ancient road, which leads from the valley of the Kephissos source through Kalapodi, to eastern Locris. This ancient road overlaps with the contemporary provincial network, along which finds from various periods have been made, confirming the theory that ancient roads have not been abandoned over the centuries.
