A Roman Military Diploma Issued to a Sailor of the Classis Flavia Moesica

Resumen

Publication of a military diploma of which three fragments were discovered during excavations at Pontic Olbia in 2004 and 2005. The diploma reproduces the constitution of Feburary 8th 157 AD addressed to the auxiliary troops and fleet of Moesia Inferior. It was delivered to a gregalis of the Classis Flavia Moesica whose name is not preserved. The praefectus classis mentioned in the diploma bears the cognomen Potamo.
