Abstract
In 2004 a statue base was found in the urban area of Sagalassos bearing a dedicatory inscription by a v(ir) p(erfectissimus) praeses provinciae Pamfiliae in the honour of a late Roman emperor. This article contains the first edition of this fragmentary text complete with commentary. The mention of the provincia Pamfilia is of particular importance, as it suggests that the history of the provincial borders in the area is more complicated than has previously been assumed. Lycia et Pamphylia was probably divided after 278 AD and then briefly reunified at the beginning of the 4th c. before the province was divided a second and final time, probably before 324 AD.
