Neues zur hellenistischen Geschichte von Kos

Abstract

The paper reviews new evidence for the history of Cos in the hellenistic period that has become known since Susan Sherwin-White published her monograph Ancient Cos in 1978. Included are, among other texts, inscriptions found by Rudolf Herzog but still unknown thirty years ago, others collected by Mario Segre and posthumously published in 1993, and new discoveries by the Greek Archaeological Service. The focus is mainly on historical events, less so on other new evidence.
