Didyma
The oracle sanctuary of Apollo on the Milesian peninsula with its monumental temple buildings from the 6th and 4th centuries BC has been excavated by French and German archaeologists since 1873. The German Archaeological Institute has been conducting research at Didyma since 1962 (initially under the excavation directors R. Naumann and K. Tuchelt). The Didyma series presents the final publication of the excavation results with detailed examinations of individual monuments and groups of finds. The main focus of scholarly interest is on the development of the cult district, the infrastructure of the sanctuary landscape, changes in the cults and cult practices as well as changing external political and social relationships over the course of more than 2000 years of use.
