Abstract
A bronze tablet from the first half of the 5th century BCE found in 2011 in the Eleithyia sanctuary of Olympia contains the complete decree rendered by three judges from Achaean Pellene to resolve a conflict within the small polis of Ledrinoi in Elis. The very compact and difficult text regulates the treatment of one of the parties involved in the dispute, the Kilikikoi, and also touches on questions of procedural law. The inscription is the oldest document so far that sheds light on the Achaean dialect from the Peloponnese (cf. also the contribution by S. Minon, p. 123–166 in this volume).
