Abstract

Originating from the area of the sanctuary of Aphrodite in Miletus are five stamp seals which, in view of their outer form and their depictions, are without doubt of north Syrian provenance. It is noteworthy that examples occur of the by now well documented Lyre Player group. All specimens were presumably offered as votives by visitors to the sanctuary.
