About the Journal

The digital systems and content developed at the German Archaeological Institute in cooperation with many partners can be accessed through its portal iDAI.world. As of now, iDAI.world has been supplemented with the Forum for Digital Archaeology and Infrastructure (FdAI). The FdAI is on the one hand a physical discussion forum, on the other, it’s an open access journal, in which articles on currently relevant topics in iDAI.world can be published without fixed submission deadlines but also without undue delay. The range of topics is wide, with discussions on research data management, digital technologies, and procedures, but also further development of the information infrastructures. Furthermore, there will be the publication of datasets or 3D models from DAI projects as well as examples of best practice in the use of digital systems, and much more. The idea is to make debate within the DAI available to a wider readership in German and English.

Authors should please note that the Forum for Digital Archaeology and Infrastructure is an internal journal of the DAI for the publication of articles from DAI projects. External submissions are possible in consultation with the editors. Please contact the journal at this address: fdai-journal@dainst.de
