Demircihüyük. Die Ergebnisse der Ausgrabungen 1975-1978

Since the publication of the first excavations in 1937, the prehistoric settlement of Demircihüyük on the outer north-western edge of the Anatolian highlands has been regarded as a representative of an independent Early Bronze Age cultural group. Its location made this settlement an important trading and connecting point between the Troad and the area of the Sea of Marmara on the one hand and the central Anatolian region on the other. A comprehensive material presentation of this completely excavated settlement is a necessary contribution to the investigation of the prehistory of this relatively unexplored part of northwestern Anatolia and, above all, provides insights into the chronology of this cultural landscape. For this reason, the Demircihüyük publication series aims to provide a comprehensive presentation and detailed documentation of the finds and contexts that came to light in the 1975–1978 excavations.
