Menschen − Reisen − Forschungen. Wissenschaftsgeschichte aus Ägypten (MRF) is a series by the Cairo Department featuring biographical studies on individual researchers and travellers in Egypt, primarily during the 19^th and early 20^th centuries. The archive material of the Cairo Institute is thus also made accessible to an audience interested in the history of research and scholarship in the countries of the Middle East. All volumes in the series are based upon academic research, written for the general reader, and richly illustrated. The series was discontinued in 2020.
