Häuser in Pompeji

The scientific undertaking Häuser in Pompeji was carried out from 1975–1995 as a long-term project of the German Research Foundation under the direction of V. M. Strocka, initially based in Berlin (German Archaeological Institute, Head Office), then from 1981 in Freiburg (Archaeological Institute of the Albert Ludwig University). The aim of the project was to document the condition of selected excavated houses in Pompeii under the impression of the ruined city acutely threatened by decay. The results are published in the series of the same name, which is richly illustrated with drawings and photographs.
