Materialien und Arbeitsmittel aus Projekten des Deutschen Archäologischen Instituts Kairo

The development of digital technologies now makes it possible to satisfy an ever-felt desire of research, namely to make accessible not only the results of the work, but also the working tools and materials on which these results are based. In order to make such materials and working tools generally and permanently available, the Cairo Department of the German Archaeological Institute has launched as a new publication format the Materialien und Arbeitsmittel aus Projekten des Deutschen Archäologischen Instituts Kairo (MAPDAIK). Under this name, materials (depending on the type of documentation and source material) are made available to science in the form of a simple PDF or as structured data convolutions and thus as digital catalogues in the information infrastructure of the German Archaeology Institute, iDAI.Welt.
