Forschungen in Renieblas 2009 und 2010

Abstract

For new research we choose the southern part of camp V. The aim of geomagnetic prospection 2009 was to explore if this method works for the whole area of the 60 ha large camp. To test, we used a bigger catch than usual for the measurements. But we found some Roman structures which we interpret as Roman buildings.

We excavated in 2010 a selected area. We documented some Roman walls which were to some extend in surprisingly good conditions. We could identify these features which the ones Schulten excavated in 1911/12. But the former data must be modified. We could also manage to find the old trenches.
